Elden Ring Runes Beaten In 20 Minutes By Ridiculous Teleporting Glitch

We've witnessed a handful of Elden Ring speedruns already, with folks doing things like beating the game without ever dying a single time in the Lands Between, among other races that are challenging. But someone who's been setting world records for running FromSoftware's latest Souls-like in the fastest speed possible has returned with a brand new high score.

YouTuber and noted Souls speedrunner Distortion2 shared a video of their record-breaking completion duration of 18 hours and 56 seconds. It's crazy! In this latest update, Distortion2 employed an exploit that breaks the rules of gaming called "The Zip," that teleports your Tarnished around the map, which lets you skip whole sections in the gameplay. Based on various posts from the internet across the internet, from Reddit to YouTube it's difficult to determine The Zip's timing. In order to do The Zip, you're supposed to stay alert and move forward in a specific time frame that make it difficult to execute without any regularity. There are some auto hot keys you can use to make the glitch a little bit easier, but those seem to be a PC-only feature.

Distortion2 was so dedicated to the sub-20-minute race that they wrote in the description of the video on Twitter the fact that they "changed an airline and conducted 15 hours of stream" just to try and publish this incredible time.
